Gray Taylor lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His spent his childhood in rural North Carolina and took a wandering and convoluted path to writing. He attempted a university education right out of high school and was unsuccessful, finding his place, instead, in the U.S. Navy as a Cryptologic Linguist where he served for eight years. There, he earned several degrees, including a PhD that led him to a variety of careers, including selling cars, waiting tables, hotel group sales, and finally medical administration. As an adult, he decided to attend law school at the University of Essex in England, where he graduated top of his class. Gray followed this with an Master of Laws from Duke University Law school and settled into a job monitoring federal contracts for the Department of Defense. Finding the need for balance, he left government service and now writes full time.

As you can tell, Gray loves his tattoos and collects them as souvenirs when he travels, which he does as much as possible. He has attended the acclaimed Iceland Writers Retreat, as well as Hay Festival, and enjoys connecting with his readers. He usually starts his morning with run or a swim and dedicates the bulk of his day to writing, social media, and editing. When not actively writing, Gray is an avid reader and likes exploring new authors while throwing in a classic or two. His evenings are dedicated to spending time with friends and family.
